It’s hard to believe that I’m already more than halfway through massage therapy school! Time has flown by, and I feel incredibly blessed to be on this journey. Thank you to everyone who has asked about school, encouraged me, and cheered me on along the way. Your support has meant so much.
One of the things that has surprised both Dr. Tim and me the most is the incredible depth of the program at Pittsburgh Massage Therapy School. The education extends far beyond learning massage techniques. We spend countless hours studying anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology, and the intricate relationship between the body’s muscles, fascia, and nervous system. It has given me an even greater appreciation for how wonderfully designed our bodies are and how intentional touch can support the body’s natural ability to heal.
As many of you know, our mission at Keystone Spinal Care has always been to help people heal by restoring proper nervous system function. As I continue my education, I can clearly see how therapeutic massage and upper cervical chiropractic care complement one another. When the nervous system is functioning at its best and soft tissues are healthy and balanced, the body is better equipped to move, recover, and heal as it was designed to.
This third term focuses on Neuromuscular Therapy and Myofascial Therapy—advanced techniques that help identify and treat muscle dysfunction, fascial restrictions, and chronic pain patterns. To continue building these skills, I will be working with practice clients throughout the term.
If you have ever considered receiving massage therapy or would simply like to help me continue my training, I would love to have you on my practice list. I currently have two recurring appointment times available:
- Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
- Friday at 8:30 a.m.
If you’re interested in volunteering for one of these sessions, please call, text, or email our office, and we’ll be happy to add you to the schedule.
Thank you again for believing in me and supporting this exciting chapter. I can’t wait to see how God uses this next step to serve our community and help more people experience healing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a fee for the massage?
No. Since I am currently a massage therapy student, there is no charge for your session. Your willingness to volunteer allows me to gain valuable hands-on experience while providing you with a relaxing therapeutic massage.
How long will the appointment be?
Please plan for approximately 60–75 minutes. This includes a brief consultation, your massage session, and time afterward to answer any questions or receive your feedback.
Do I need to complete any paperwork?
Yes. A confidential intake form will be emailed or texted to you before your appointment. Please complete it prior to your session so I can review your health history and ensure the massage is appropriate for you.
What should I wear during the massage?
You will be asked to undress to your personal comfort level. Most clients remove all clothing except underwear. Throughout the session, you will be professionally draped with a sheet and blanket, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered. Your privacy, comfort, and modesty will be respected at all times.
What type of massage will I receive?
The session will consist of a relaxation-focused Swedish massage, using techniques I have learned in massage therapy school. Pressure will be adjusted to your comfort level.
Can I request more or less pressure?
Absolutely. Please let me know at any time during the massage if you would like the pressure adjusted or if anything feels uncomfortable. Your comfort is my priority.
Where will the massage take place?
Sessions will be held at Keystone Spinal Care in a quiet, professional treatment room designed to help you relax.
